If you're on the lookout for a unique wedding venue in Ireland, then you need Dungarvan Castle on your radar!
Dungarvan Castle or King John's Norman Castle is a National Monument situated in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland. It was built c.1209 to safeguard the entrance to Dungarvan Harbour. The castle has an enclosing curtain wall, a corner tower and a gate tower. Within the wall is a two-storey military barracks, which dates from the first half of the eighteenth century.
Please note that filming and/or photography at a National Monument or historic site such as Dungarvan Castle can only take place with prior written permission issued through the OPW (Office of Public Works) liaison contact. I will be happy to arrange all paperwork on your behalf.
Claire and Paddy wanted to keep their wedding small and special. The couple chose to get ready at Gold Coast Golf Resort, which is only 10 mins drive from the Caste.
Claire and Paddy's ceremony was in Dungarvan Castle, and their reception in a cosy nautical inspired restaurant The Moorings Dungarvan. I did a three hours of coverage for their wedding day. We managed to photograph a little bit of Claire's morning, the ceremony, family photos on the Castle grounds, bride and groom portraits near the Castle and at Lookout. I follow them to the Mooring for a few candid photographs. A lot can be done in just three hours!
Here is a little preview from their day! Enjoy!
