Kilshane House Wedding

Set within hundreds of acres of private countryside, Kilshane feels wonderfully removed from everyday life. As you make your way through the estate, the pace seems to change. The house appears through the trees, the gardens open around you, and suddenly you are somewhere that feels a world away from the everyday.

It is the kind of place where you can imagine your wedding day before it has even happened.

here is history in the house, but it never feels distant or formal. Instead, there is a warmth and character that makes Kilshane feel wonderfully personal a place where old-world architecture, beautiful gardens and the surrounding countryside come together naturally.

Chelsea and Stephens Wedding at Kilshane House.
With a beautiful ceremony surrounded by the lush greenery of Kilshane’s Conservatory, elegant white florals and plenty of sunshine, Chelsea and Stephen’s wedding was a beautiful summer celebration. From joyful moments in the gardens to relaxed portraits around the house and a candlelit reception, their day was filled with warmth, laughter and beautiful details.

Elegant Wedding Photography at Kilshane House, County Tipperary

Kilshane House is one of those rare Irish wedding venues where the setting is already part of the story.

From the elegant Regency house and spectacular Conservatory to the lake, Victorian gardens, mature trees and hidden corners of the estate, every part of Kilshane offers a different atmosphere throughout the wedding day.

As a wedding photographer, I approach Kilshane with an understanding of how the house, grounds and changing light work together. My aim is to create photographs that feel effortless and beautifully composed, while allowing the character of Kilshane House and the atmosphere of your wedding to remain at the heart of the images.

Knowing the Grounds Makes a Difference

Photographing a wedding at Kilshane House is about more than finding a beautiful backdrop.

The architecture, gardens and surrounding landscape all have their own presence, and I carefully consider how to photograph them without making the day feel overly staged.

Rather than taking you from one photograph to another simply because a location looks good, I work with the natural rhythm of your wedding day. I know when it is worth stepping outside for a few minutes, where the light will be most flattering, and when it is better to stay inside and make use of the beautiful architecture and available light. This means your portraits can feel considered without taking you away from your guests for long periods of time. The result is a collection of photographs that feels connected to the place  elegant, natural and timeless.

A Calm, Well-Considered Approach to Your Wedding Day

Beautiful wedding photography should fit naturally into the day rather than dictate it.

Before your wedding, I work through the timeline with you and consider the important moments, locations and opportunities for portraits.

On the day itself, I work closely with your wedding team and adapt to what is happening around us. I will guide you when direction is helpful, particularly during portraits, while keeping the majority of the day relaxed and unobtrusive.

My goal is for you to spend your wedding day with the people you have brought together not feeling like you are constantly being photographed.

From the Quietest Moments to the Evening Celebration

Some of my favourite photographs are often the ones that happen between the planned moments. A bride preparing with her family. A quiet exchange before the ceremony. Guests walking through the gardens. Champagne on the terrace. A couple disappearing for a few minutes together. The atmosphere of the room as dinner begins. The energy of the dance floor later in the evening.

I photograph all of these layers of the day, creating a gallery that feels complete rather than simply a collection of posed portraits.

Kilshane House Through the Seasons

Perhaps one of the most wonderful things about Kilshane is that your ceremony can feel completely different depending on the season and the atmosphere you imagine for your day.

You might exchange vows beneath the glass roof of the Conservatory, surrounded by lush greenery and birdsong, with the feeling of a summer garden even when the Irish weather has other ideas.

Or perhaps you picture saying your vows beside the lake, with the pagoda appearing to float on the water, or tucked away in the secret garden amongst roses and lavender.

And if the weather changes? That is part of the charm of an Irish wedding. Kilshane gives you beautiful options both inside and out, so you can enjoy the gardens when the sun comes out and retreat beneath glass or into the house when it doesn't  without losing the atmosphere of the day.
