Steeped in history, Markree Castle is one of Ireland’s most distinctive luxury castle wedding venues. Dating back to the 17th century, the estate is known for its gothic architecture, historic interiors, woodland surroundings, and beautiful chapel creating a setting that feels deeply romantic and unmistakably Irish.
The couple travelled to Ireland drawn by its landscape, history, and atmosphere, choosing Markree Castle for its warmth, intimacy, and enchanting character. Their wedding embraced everything that makes Irish castle weddings so unforgettable: candlelit spaces, textured interiors, soft autumn light, and meaningful moments shared with the people closest to them.
As a fine art wedding photographer in Ireland, my approach was focused on preserving the feeling of the venue exactly as it was experienced throughout the day. Using a refined blend of ambient light and professional flash techniques, I photographed the celebration in a natural and unobtrusive way allowing the atmosphere, emotion, and architectural beauty of Markree Castle to remain at the centre of every image.
As Ireland’s only MagMod Ambassador, I use a theatrical approach to light that enhances depth, texture, and mood while gently drawing focus to my couples, allowing them to feel fully present within the celebration rather than staged apart from it.
